Bill, I'm 5'10" and I weigh about 200 lbs. I'm built pretty stocky- short arms and legs- thanks Dad.... My Savage is a very comfortable ride and I have enough "room" to eigher sit up straight or slouch back a little. The buckhorn bars are very comfortable and the seat height is perfect for me (32" inseam on my trousers). In contrast, you have to watch and out for Harleys... the big bikes are just that- BIG. I'm not really comfortable on them. Even the Sportsters can make you feel like you're always "reaching" for the handlebars (and their seat is higher, too!) Watch out especially for the drag bars which are standard on some models.
In terms of vibration... what vibration? You'll feel a little if you really push the bike, but 50-60 is very comfortable.
Whatever you get, enjoy! For my money, the Savage is a great bike unless you want the name...
KTRSD!
-Jim
